(AP) – Two California counties violated the Constitution's right to keep and bear arms when they shut down gun and ammunition stores in 2020 as nonessential businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

A rise in COVID-19 cases has spiked within the Clinton Public School District this week. Superintendent Tyler Bridges reported a high of 21.6% of students and approximately 40 staff members were absent.

The rise in COVID-19 cases has caused hardships on many businesses in Clinton. The Chamber of Commerce and Western Plains Library System recently canceled all functions and activities for the safety and wellbeing of staff and community members.
