WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is ordering the release of 1 million barrels of oil per day from the nation’s strategic petroleum reserve for six months, the White House said Thursday, in a bid to control energy prices that have spiked as the U.S. and its allies imposed steep sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.

Co-directors named for CPSF post

After over six years as executive director with the Clinton Public School Foundation, Erin Adams has exited CPSF for a position as advancement coordinator for communications with the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation and Alumni Association. Taking Adams’ place will be two new staff, Debbie Carlisle and Tonya Gaunt.

Brewer earns his Eagle Scout award

Kamryn Blake Brewer, son of Chris and Laci Brewer of Clinton, recently earned Boy Scouts of America’s highest rank, the Eagle Scout. Brewer is the 101st Eagle Scout in Troop 361 since it was chartered by the First United Methodist Church in December 1949.
