In year seven of the Robert Pitman era of the Clinton High School Red Tornadoes cross country program, it is about growing the program and getting more people involved.
The local chapter of the Men’s Golf Association held it’s annual Labor Day Tournament last weekend at Riverside Golf Course.
The Burns Flat-Dill City Eagles would open their 2023 football season with a 26-0 Friday home loss to the Carnegie Wildcats in front of a peculiar seating arrangement for the Eagles fans due to their side of the stadium being blocked off after it received damage from a windstorm that toppled the press box, dumping it directly into the locker room. This would be the first ominous sight of the evening.
With the second week officially in the books and the games played, it is time to turn the attention to the second winner of the Clinton Daily News’ Pigskin Picks contest.
