Memorial service for Vincent Edward “Vince” Barnes, 63 year-old Weatherford resident, will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church with Ryan Ross and Earl Stephenson officiating. The family will receive friends, after the service, in the south commons area.
Service is under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Vince was born June 15, 1962, in Hobart, to Raymond Edward and Melba June (Taylor) Barnes and succumbed to a 6 ½ year battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
Vince was raised in Hobart and graduated from Hobart High School in 1980. He participated in football, wrestling and tennis while in high school.
After graduating Vince attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He married and was blessed with five children, Nathan, Matt, Sarah, Marissa and Andrew.
On March 5, 2016, Vince married Julie Ann (Cosby) Rushing and they made their home in Weatherford.
Vince’s passions were fishing, old cars, and taking expected and unexpected trips with his wife, Julie.
Vince worked for Western Uniform Company based out of Hobart for 22 years and CTC for 4 years before pursuing his dream job of opening his own pawn shop, Big Red Pawn and Gun in Clinton which he owned for 20 years.
There was nowhere Vince and Julie went that they didn’t meet someone Vince knew or made a new friend – or talked with someone that they knew of mutual acquaintance.
Vince is survived by his wife of 9 years, Julie of their home in Weatherford; two sons, Matt Barnes and wife, Emillee and Andrew Barnes and wife, Tori; five daughters, Marissa Brownlee and husband, Kyle, Sarah Garcia and husband, Javier, Cheyenne Miranda and husband, Billy, Sydney Gregory and husband, Noah and Kali Farmer; sister, Mona Wheeler and husband, Jon; brother, Billy Williams and wife, Sheila; and fifteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Nathan; and granddaughter, Jade Gomez.
