Dean Watson, age 82, left his earthly body on July 5, 2025, in Bethany, Oklahoma.
He will be dearly missed.
Dean was a gentle, caring, loving, son, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle.
He was born on July 31, 1943, in Carnegie, Oklahoma, to parents Delbert and Nella Faye Watson.
He attended school in Mountain View and Clinton, OK where his mother taught high school English and father was the principal of the elementary school. Story is they did not “go easy” on him, he would joke it was quite the opposite! He later attended military boot camp and served in the Army reserves.
Throughout his life, he was deeply rooted in his faith as an active Christian. He was baptized by Brother Walter Teal in Mountain View and later worked with his brother for Brother Teal on his dairy farm. They often recall lessons learned both on the farm and from the Bible from this Gospel Preacher, Dairy Farmer. In recent years, he attended the Church of Christ in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. His commitment to his spiritual community and his involvement in Alcoholics Anonymous were sources of strength and hope both for himself and those around him.
Dean’s warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many. You never heard Dean say an unkind word about anyone.
He is preceded in death by both parents.
He is survived by his daughters Kelley Farley and Amy VanHooser, their spouses Scott Farley and Eric VanHooser, granddaughters Abbey and Emma Farley, brother Kent Watson and his wife Donna, as well as niece Alyssa and nephew Aaron, and their spouses and children, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love and faith.
A service to honor Dean’s life will be held at the Kingfisher Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m., on September 12, 2025 Family, and friends are invited to join in remembering a man who inspired many through his faith and resilience.
Dean’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
