Monday night, Fuerza Latina Clinton hosted a forum including Ward 4 candidates. Those participating were incumbent Art Lloyd and challenger Bobby Stewart. The format of the forum was that each candidate was asked a specific question, sent in by a member of the community, and then given up to two minutes to answer.

Plenty of ground to cover

Truckloads of ground cover are on site at the M.T. and Helen Gholston Children’s Park in preparation for volunteers expected to converge Friday and Saturday as they work together to regenerate the Clinton landmark that was built 24 years ago. Organizers say anyone wanting to help is encouraged to show up at the park on those days.

This is the second installment covering the mayoral candidate forum hosted by Fuerza Latina Clinton Monday at the Clinton Middle School Auditorium. The format featured Mayor David Berrong being asked questions first, then followed by challenger Chris Roland.

Decorating opportunity

Déjà vu may have only been slight Monday when Clinton fifth-grade students returned to their old stomping grounds at Southwest Elementary School. That’s because the new classroom addition at the school, funded via the community’s support of the previous bond issue, was basically ready for business according to Supt. Tyler Bridges.

Burger ticket

Lunch is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner is from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit WOCS in Clinton, Weatherford, and Elk City.
