In a town where a large percentage of the population identifies as Hispanic or Latino, a new nonprofit organization is working to bridge cultural gaps and celebrate diversity. Fuerza Latina Clinton (FLC), founded this summer, has already made waves with its inaugural back-toschool event and has ambitious plans for the future.

Firemen prepare to‘Fill the Boot’

Clinton firefighters will take to the streets for their annual “Fill the Boot” fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Gary Boulevard and U.S. Highway 183. The event supports the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and its essential programs for patients and families affected by neuromuscular diseases.

All along it has been all about the numbers when it comes to reopening the M.T. and Helen Gholston Children’s Park at Acme. How much money? How much time? Monday those numbers were made known to interested Clintonites at Clinton City Hall.
