(AP) – California became the first state to ban most law enforcement officers, including federal immigration agents, from covering their faces while conducting official business under a bill that was signed Saturday by Gov. Gavin Newsom and swiftly denounced by Trump administration officials.

Corn Bible Academy has started rehearsals for its 2025 senior play, a combination of “The Case of the Frozen Saints,” and “The First Church of Pete’s Garage.” The show will be directed by Corn Bible Academy English teacher Roshelle Wherritt and is scheduled to show at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Corn Bible Academy Auditorium.

County work proceeds as usual, arrests continue to be made, and pests and parasites remain a concern, according to officials at the Custer County commissioner’s meeting on Monday.

Kentovo Holcomb, 36, of Clinton, has been arrested after being implicated through Facebook messages in the distribution of illegal narcotics.
