In a historic U.S. Supreme Court decision, justices ruled recently that much of eastern Oklahoma has been, contrary to the state’s long-standing belief, part of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation reservation.

The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum is opening a special exhibit called “Lines with Power and Purpose: Editorial Cartoons,” featuring 51 original editorial cartoons from the nation’s great metropolitan newspapers during the Golden Age of print journalism. Included in the exhibit are six works from Pulitzer Prizewinning cartoonists as well as a station for visitors to create their own editorial cartoon. The exhibit will be showcased at the Museum now through Oct. 6.

OU Medicine, OU Health Sciences Center and Oklahoma Blood Institute are collaborating on a project to determine the prevalence of Oklahoma healthcare workers who have previously been infected with the COVID-19 virus. In addition, the antibodies of those who test positive for previous infection will be analyzed for their ability to protect against future COVID-19 infection.

On a hot summer day, spending the afternoon bathed in the shade of a tree is a great escape from the heat. While homeowners do their best to make the landscape an inviting space, some of the needed equipment to do so could put those trees in jeopardy.
