Clinton Public School was awarded additional funds from the federal government’s Emergency Connectivity Funds Monday. Superintendent Tyler Bridges updated school board members on what the fund will be used for during Monday’s meeting.

For more than a month the Clinton Police Department investigated a report from an underage female who said she received a message from an unknown Snapchat account attempting to extort her for explicit images.

Local horse has big debut for Sappingtons

Absaroka, bred and raised by Blake Sappington of Clinton, made his stakes debut in the $175,000 Oklahoma Classics Cup on Oct. 15 at Remington Park in Oklahoma City. The 5-yearold thoroughbred was a commanding 4¼-length winner over the secondplace horse.

Clinton’s Veterans Center will host a Veterans Day program today to honor those living at the center. Administrator Stephanie Taylor said this year special recognition will go to five World War II veterans from Clinton and one from Weatherford.

More local Kiwanis Club costume winners

Annie Park, standing at left, holds Goldie Park behind Bennet and Jude Park, they went as “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” and took first place during the contest. In the center Destiny and Logan Majeune hold Kai and Kam Majeune as Avalynn and Livi Majeune stand in front of them. that family went as “Pokemon” and won second place. Last but not least, Harper Veazey, right, came with her little brother Harrison Veazey as a “Police Woman and K-9 Officer.” Those siblings took home third place.
