Following reports of shots fired Tuesday evening at the parking lot of TH Rogers on U.S. Highway 183/Fourth Street, Clinton Police Chief Luis De La Torre has confirmed one fatality and three arrests made.
De La Torre stated early Tuesday evening Oklahoma Highway Patrol believed they had located an individual who was a suspect in the Monday night homicide at the Primavera Apartments located on Hayes Avenue across from Klump Park.
After the shooting took place, Clinton Police assisted with securing the scene at TH Rogers Lumber Company located at 600 N. Fourth St.
Reports of multiple shots fired went out at approximately 6:15 p.m. De La Torre has confirmed the one fatality, and three individuals transported to the Clinton City Jail. De La Torre also stated that he knows of no officers being injured.
The original homicide is under the direction of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, as the agency’s assistance was requested by the Clinton Police Department. This is considered to be standard protocol for many municipal law enforcement agencies.
OSBI Public Information Manager Hunter McKee said there has been no arrest made regarding the Monday night homicide.
McKee also was not able to release the name of the victim or the principal suspect as of press time Wednesday.
Tuesday night’s incident is under investigation by the OHP. The Clinton Daily News has been in contact with public information representatives but has not been notified of the account of what happened during the incident, the name of the deceased, or the names of the other individuals taken to jail at the time of the incident.
The Clinton Daily News will continue to seek information in regard to both instances and update when available.
