The wait is finally over for the Clinton boys’ soccer team (17-0 overall), after six years and five seasons between their last appearance, CHS is headed back to the Class 4A state championship.

OKLAHOMA CITY – A quick roster adjustment helped lock in all three spots and all five Clinton boys’ tennis players for this weekend’s state tournament, at the regional tourney Monday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
Not to be outdone, the Arapaho-Butler boys’ golf team took the long postseason route but had an individual qualify for state in the program’s first year.
In its inaugural season at Arapaho-Butler High School, the track team qualified three spots for the Class A state meet at regionals in Cherokee and placed others.
Both opponents don’t get much better than what the Clinton soccer teams will face at 6 p.m. tonight in the Class 4A semifinals.
ALTUS – The stage got bigger, but Clinton track’s results stayed the same, as its throwing trio dominated at the regional meet Friday and qualified for state, including a discus title from freshman Kat Meacham, and a new face is also headed to state in sophomore hurdler Javion Hill.

A quarterfinals’ wall kept the Clinton boys’ soccer team (16-0 overall) out of the Class 4A semifinals for five seasons (not including the 2020, COVID-19 season), but the Reds took a bulldozer to it Thursday night at home, leading wire-to-wire in a, 6-1, home, win over Madill to end the drought.
BLANCHARD – A season where the Clinton baseball team (18-15 overall) battled back from numerous tough spots came to a close at the regional tournament Thursday at Blanchard.
