The Clinton football team was chasing a shot at a state title for the better part of the last decade, and it still is, but it’s no longer off Class 4A’s radar.
After much criticism for its up-anddown play in 2019, the Clinton offense rebounded for a much better year in 2020 and even morphed somewhat into a methodical sledgehammer in the postseason.
It’s a different year, but the same story for the Clinton football schedule, as it features five “true” playoff teams from last year on its 2021 schedule, including four teams that reached at least the second round of the postseason or further.
