Funeral services for Juanita Reinschmiedt, age 96, of Clinton, will be held 2 PM today at the Peace Lutheran Church with James Cookerly officiating, and under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.

Viewing was held yesterday. Juanita was born April 28, 1929, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Christian and Christina Kolb, and passed away peacefully Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.

Juanita was raised in Clinton and attended and graduated Clinton High School.

She married the love of her life, Ruben Reinschmiedt and they made their home in Clinton. From the marriage came a son, Larry Reinschmiedt.

Juanita is best remembered for being a lot more than met the eye. In her life she was a farmer, a rancher, a business partner, a homemaker, a loyal servant to Peace Lutheran Church in Bessie and most of all a great wife and mother. As a farmers wife she worked long days.

Through the years for harvest , she cooked all the meals, brought them out the the field, and even drove the wheat trucks to the grain elevator. She was Ruben’s partner in everything.

Juanita loved to read –– everything –– newspapers, magazines, her religious literature and especially, her Bible.

Throughout the years, Juanita was not afraid to voice her Biblical beliefs about what was right and what was wrong – even to a coyote! One day, she spotted a coyote coming out of the henhouse with her prize, plump chicken in his mouth.

She chased that coyote across the plowed field letting him know all about “Thou Shall Not Steal”.

Juanita had a distinctive creative style, and many commented that she definitely had an eye for the beautiful and well designed.

Her design sense and ability to work with color was an absolute art. She knew what color to use, whether it was putting a wardrobe together or designing the interior of a house. She always said it was a gift from God. As a mother, she had the vision to see her son had inherited that gift, and saw to it that he attended the country’s finest art school, The Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.

What people most seem to remember though, is her quick sense of humor. No one walked away from her without chuckling about something - usually about her observations of life, nature and weather in her beloved Clinton – the town into which she was born and lived her entire fruitful life of 96 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ruben and sister Alnita Sawatzky. Parents-in-law Wilhelm (Bill) Reinschmiedt and Pauline Reinschmiedt.

Juanita is survived by her son Larry Reinschmiedt and wife Clynell of Clinton.

Two grandchildren Heather Reinshchmiedt of Edmond, and Shawn Reinschmiedt of Atlanta, GA. Two great grandchildren Max Reinschmiedt of Edmond and Nolan Reinschmiedt of Atlanta, GA. And a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
