Ronald “Big Ron” Gene Red Shin, age 67, longtime resident of Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in Clinton, Oklahoma. He was born December 14, 1957, in Clinton to Ronald “Kisso” Red Shin and Bernice (Naranjo) Bull.

Ronald was raised in Thomas, Oklahoma, and graduated from Thomas High School in 1975. He went on to attend Haskell University. A hard worker throughout his life, Ronnie held many jobs over the years including with Bar-S Foods, Lucky Star Casino, in the oil field, hauling hay, and building fences. Most recently, and for the past seven years, he served as a Parks and Recreation Supervisor for the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, a role he took great pride in.

Ronald loved spending time with his grand-chil-dren and enjoyed visits to the casino. He was known for his strong work ethic, easygoing nature, and devotion to family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kisso Red Shin and Bernice Bull, and by his sister, Ronda Red Shin.

Survivors include his son, Damyn Red Shin of Clinton; one sister, Velva Fulsom of Clinton; brothers: Joe Moss and James Moss, both of Clinton, John Moss of Yukon, and Jarrod Moss of Clinton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral Services for Ronald will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Clinton Emergency Response Center (ERC) Building, with Rev. Gerald Panana, Rev. Bunny Whitecrow, and Rev.

Mona Bearshield officiating. Burial will follow at the Clinton Cemetery. A traditional all-night wake will be held the evening prior, beginning at 7:00 P.M., at the ERC Building.
