Staffing has continued to be an issue for area law enforcement but according to Custer County Sheriff Dan Day, the sheriff’s office is fully staffed with deputies, as the sheriff reported during Monday’s meeting of the Custer County commissioners, but other challenges need addressing.

Over the past year, Sinor Emergency Medical Services has been on the front lines of medical care for Clinton and surrounding communities with the closure of the Clinton Regional Hospital and has provided emergency medical care to Clinton for more than 30 years going above and beyond its contract that far exceeds the provisions of other EMS providers in the area, according to Sinor Operations Manager Johnny Red.
Now that she is retired, Narci Smith said she spends her days either playing bridge with her card club at Café Clinton or visiting her children and grandchild in Oklahoma City.
