BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana hasn’t carried out a death row execution since 2010, but between a new conservative governor who is in favor of capital punishment and other states implementing alternative methods to lethal injections, the Deep South state could soon look at ways to resume.

Clinton High School legal team preps to start season

After rigorous practice and preparation, the Clinton High School legal team is ready for its first live competition today against two other schools at the qualifying matches in the District Federal Courthouse in Oklahoma City. The team’s mock attorneys and witnesses will have to portray both the defendant and the plaintiff while they are moderated by a real judge and scored by lawyers playing jurors for the day. Coach Ashley Kelley said they will face Owasso and Epic Charter Schools and ultimately progression in the season will be determined off of point scoring alone.
