A suspect has been apprehended in connection with an alleged recent incident at a local liquor store with the owner giving praise to the authorities in a public meeting.
Gearing up
School resource officers are hired to serve an important role in protecting the students and teachers at schools. Clinton Public Schools has two of them in the form of Officer Dillon Whitten and Officer Andrew Wilson. Both of them spend time at all five school sites throughout the day.
The American Legion is set to host its annual Memorial Day service at 10 a.m. Monday at the Clinton Cemetery. The event, which aims to pay tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to their country, will take place at the cemetery’s American Legion section, located near the north entrance.

Lyle Miller has provided an update regarding the upcoming Memorial Day service at Stafford Cemetery. Bowman Vowell, the pastor of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, speaking at the event instead of Miller. The service will proceed as originally planned, taking place at 2 p.m. Monday at the cemetery.
