Benefit planned for girl’s heart transplant

The American Legion Post 41 will host a benefit hamburger cookout and dance from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday to support Lillian Funk, a 12-year-old girl urgently awaiting a heart transplant. All proceeds will go to the Funk family to help with medical and transportation Lillian, known as Lily, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).

County Fair preparations are underway

The 98th annual Custer County Fair is scheduled for Sept. 4-7 at the county fairgrounds, offering a wide array of exhibits, contests, and familyfriendly entertainment.
