Among the national and state elections held Tuesday, there were two local elections held in Clinton. The races for both mayor and councilmember of Ward 4 were won by incumbents David Berrong and Art Lloyd respectively.
Rural Hospital Solutions, Inc. has submitted a letter of intent to be the backing source for Clinton Regional Hospital and possibly purchase the facility. The matter will be discussed at 6:30 p.m. tonight during a special meeting of the Clinton City Council at City Hall. The hospital, which has been reopened for a year now, has had issues with accounts receivable meeting the needs for expenses incurred and the Clinton Hospital Authority has gone to the City of Clinton twice to set up a line of credit in the amount of $1.5 million.
