The annual base pay of Custer County elected officers has officially crossed the $50,000 mark.
Effective July 1, the gross pay of elected officers rose by $2,397 to $50,336.52 a year. It had been $47,939.52.

Mustang resident John Lyles, 26, has been charged in Custer County District Court with stealing $20,000 at the Lucky Star Casino in Clinton that belonged to a Hobart woman.
After the success of its first “Trunk or Treat on Frisco” event last year, the Clinton Chamber of Commerce will once again host this kid-safe, family Halloween party from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31.
