A Clinton man was successfully subdued by the Clinton Police Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol after allegedly brandishing an axe during an altercation at his home – which the suspect also allegedly attempted to burn down – Tuesday afternoon.

Three area men were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 near Elk City.
