Officer involved in wreck

A two-car wreck involving a police car occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 2200 block of Modelle Avenue next to the Coronado Apartments.

Clinton Police Chief Paul Rinkel informed Acting City Manager Gene McCullough that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Wreck involves six people, four children

Six people, including four children, were traveling in a 2008 Nissan Titan when it struck a bridge curb and utility pole, then rolled an undetermined amount of times before coming to rest upside down.

Bridges family comes home to Clinton

Although Tyler Bridges’ first official day as Clinton’s new school superintendent won’t be until July 1, he’s already been working with district administrators and staff for weeks on navigating Clinton Public Schools’ path forward during a very challenging time.

There will be only one contested city council race for this slate of elections in Clinton.

Today is the 171st day of 2020 and the 93rd day of spring.
