(AP) — A group representing Navajo communities is presenting its case to an international human rights body, saying U.S. regulators violated the rights of tribal members when they cleared the way for uranium mining in western New Mexico.

Dear Doctors: I inherited my mother's prominent varicose veins, and despite surgery, they are back. My sister recently told me our mother had deep vein thrombosis when she was older. She told me to be careful, and to watch for symptoms. Am I at risk because of my varicose veins?

Give gift if not invited to wedding?

DEAR HARRIETTE: My wife and I recently received a note from good friends of ours stating that they are having an in-person wedding for their daughter, but because of COVID-19, we are not invited. They added that if we want to give a gift from the registry, here is the link. I thought that was awfully tacky. I get that we must do things differently because we want to be safe, but how do you not invite someone to a wedding and then ask for a gift? What do you think about that? – Registry Only
