Friend suspicious of woman’s COVID claims

DEAR HARRIETTE: I think that my friend keeps lying about having COVID-19. Since April 2020, my friend has claimed to have contracted COVID-19 about five different times. I don't see how this is possible, especially since I have not contracted the virus once. I think that she does this to avoid spending time with me. Would it be wrong to confront her about this? I don't have any evidence that she's lying other than the unlikelihood of catching COVID-19 so many times. – Suspicious

Many research opportunities available for COVID-19 long haulers

Dear Doctors: I am a COVID-19 longhauler, and it has been a horrible experience. I have tinnitus, tremors and shortness of breath, and I lost my sense of smell. It's disabling, and I am doubtful I will ever be the same. Can I assist in research in any way? What kinds of clinical trials are there?

Sister doesn’t reciprocate gift-giving

DEAR HARRIETTE: I send my nephew gifts every year on his birthday. He's 11 years old -- the exact same age as my daughter. He always tells me how happy these gifts make him. My sister doesn't do the same for my daughter. She will call her, sing her a little song, or maybe write her a sweet little post on Facebook, but she never sends gifts. Every year I get a little offended. It isn't like my sister can't afford gifts; she actually makes more money than I do. Should I approach her about this? -- Don't Be Stingy
