Repairs to the Acme Brick Park railroad bridge, the hiring of a second school resource officer, and an update on restoration of the Glancy Motel were discussed at Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Clinton City Council. The council also met as the Clinton Hospital Authority, but that portion of the meeting was in executive session with the public and press barred and no action was taken.

Preparing for students

Nance Elementary School music teacher Jennifer Daubenspeck is bus getting a variety of instruments ready for students. The first day of school in Clinton is Aug. 11.

As summer comes to an end, so do days spent at the Clinton public swimming pool in McLain Rogers Park. The pool’s last day open will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday with admission free to the public.
