(AP) — A bill to rescind the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for members of the U.S. military and provide nearly $858 billion for national defense passed the House on Thursday as lawmakers scratch off one of the final items on their yearly to-do list.

Incumbents Susanna Williams, who holds Clinton’s No. 3 Board of Education seat, Jo Lyn Elder, who holds Arapaho-Butler’s Board of Education No. 3 seat, and Rusty Roush, who holds Arapaho- Butler’s No. 1 seat, will all remain in their positions as no new candidates have filed against them after completion of the filing period.

Smith dedicated to volunteering at museum

One of the longest standing volunteers at the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum is Virgil Smith, who has volunteered his service to the museum for a little over 30 years and even helped with some of the landscaping of it when he was in high school.
