City crews prepare for winter weather

As today’s cold winter weather moves in, the Clinton Streets Department is prepared for whatever the day may bring after spending the week preparing equipment for use in the event that inclement icy weather takes a toll on city streets.

CPS hosts annual Winter Feed

Clinton Public Schools is gearing up to provide free meals to all students under the age of 18 over the winter break through its Winter Feed program.

The Washita Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) met for its monthly meeting Dec. 12. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, The American Creed, The Preamble to the Constitution and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.

In addition to other church Christmas services happening over the weekend as published in Saturday’s edition of the Clinton Daily News, the First Mennonite Church will be hosting a service at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve at 700 S. 19th St. in Clinton.
