Fire at D&D

Monday morning large plumes of black smoke lofted up into the blue sky as the shop area at D&D Used Cars & Service Center at 22496 E. 1070 Rd. was ablaze. In the photo above, two Clinton firemen cross streams at the large shop area opening.

The Clinton Municipal Pool at McLain Rogers Park is temporarily closed due to a pump failure. Originally, City and park officials hoped to have the issue repaired by Thursday afternoon, but the necessary replacement was more difficult to find than anticipated.

While plenty of people celebrated the Fourth of July with fireworks and cookouts, some spent it at Clinton City Hall to voice their opinions on the current presidential and governmental standings with a “No Kings” protest.

Sheriff Dan Day brought a variety of news to the county commissioner’s meeting Monday, including updates to facilities, future plans for renovation, and the most recent addition to the team at the Custer County Jail – a therapy dog named Cellie Mae Jail.

In 1889, The Wall Street Journal was published for the first time.
