Heritage and history plays a big part in people’s lives around the world. For Clinton’s Mario Martinez it is no different, as he takes immense pride in his Mexican heritage as he celebrates it with his family in the past, present and future.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A map drafted centuries ago as Spanish settlers solidified their presence in what is now Mexico and the southwestern United States has been returned to the Mexican government, marking the end of a yearslong effort to bring the historic document home.

Hispanic and Latino individuals comprise one of the largest demographics in the United States. The U.S. Census Bureau indicates that, as of 2020, there were more than 60 million people identifying as Hispanic or Latino living in the country.
