We’re now headed into the fourth week of the legislative session and have completed two full weeks of work on bills in the Senate’s policy committees. Some of these measures will head directly to the Senate floor for consideration, while many of the bills have a fiscal impact and must be considered by the Appropriations Committee before advancing.

Recently, Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, raised the prospect of impeaching President Donald Trump over the Justice Department’s decision to withdraw the indictment of New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The Trump administration is engaged in “an attack on the Department of Justice for engaging in corruption prosecutions,” Raskin told CBS. Such behavior “could be impeachable in a different political environment.”
