Last month an initiative petition was filed seeking to take redistricting away from the Oklahoma Legislature and put it in the hands of a committee it would select. If enough signatures are collected, the question would eventually be put on a statewide ballot for voters to consider.

Less than one month to be counted

We have until the end of the month to get as many Oklahomans counted in the U.S. Census as possible. Our participation rate will determine the percentage of certain federal funds Oklahoma receives over the next 10 years, and we’ve fallen to 41 in the nation in participation.

Now is the time for grief and honesty

The Democratic convention this year, odd Hollywood production that it was in these virtual times, was a bit of an exercise in denial. There were the feel-good segments about Joe Biden and his life in public office and his painful personal tragedy. There were shrill attacks on President Donald Trump, probably the easiest thing in the world to do.
